David Beckham’s career is in the balance after the 34-year old midfielder tore his Achilles tendon in yesterday’s AC Milan win over Chievo Verona. The former England captain’s injury was sustained without contact from an opposing (or indeed any) player. Beckham’s World Cup hopes are said to be shot. His professional soccer career in great peril. But Becks has proven resilient in a soccer career that now spans three decades. Already there is talk of a full recovery.
