Becks brace bags point at RSL
David Beckham scored twice within a four minute span at Rice-Eccles Stadium to get L.A. even in a game it appeared to be out of. Fabian Espindola and Kenny Deuchar had put the hosts two goals up after only 18 minutes. Los Angeles pushed for a winner in the second half but was unable to get one past RSL keeper Nick Rimando.

A hat-trick by Landon Donovan and brace by Alan Gordon added up to five goals and victory for the L.A. Galaxy in the first Superclasico of 2008. Through five games, Donovan (here being mobbed by teammates) now has a staggering tally of eight goals. “I think Landon is in great shape,” said head coach Ruud Gullit.
